This image was created to capture the learning experience of Tohono O’odham Community College (TOCC). TOCC, is one of the few tribal colleges in the State of Arizona and located on the Tohono O’odham Nation. One of the goals of the college is to strengthen the numbers of college graduates among Indigenous populations. With instilling traditions into the classroom, they are building the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, language speakers, and much much more.
This photo is currently being used for marketing purposes to promote the college.

Language revitalization is a huge task, some would say it takes a village. For almost a whole year Alejandro was involved with assisting the Tohono O’odham Nation with creating a video catalog for their language to be taught digitally. This project was special because everyone involved was equally as important to the entire program. It is still one of my favorite projects to date.
